Bio
“No matter how big the idea, or how vast the project, everything starts the same way -with one small movement” – Shakira
Fitness and health have always been a priority in my life. I played many sports growing up, continuing to play lacrosse through college. I majored in Kinesiology and minored in Sports Nutrition at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
My junior year I got the opportunity to start working at a small group training gym and fell in love with it! I loved the camaraderie, the bond the coaches shared, and the way we could make somebody’s workout the best hour of their day. I enjoyed forming relationships with clients as they tackled and achieved their goals, and I knew that’s what I wanted to do for my career. After graduating and working at that same gym in SLO for a couple years, I moved up to the Bay Area and worked as a personal trainer at Google’s headquarters. One year in, I missed group training. So I launched a new group training program that grew and grew. Eventually I decided to make it my own company and launched it outside of Google as well. After doing that for 7 years, my husband and I decided to start a family and we had our first son Ryker. I worked about half time after he was born and then when he was 8 months old we got the opportunity to move to Paris. It was a very hard decision, but my other passion besides fitness is world travel, and this was an opportunity we didn’t want to pass up! So I said goodbye to the business I had built and Bonjour to the life of full-time mom and travel. After Paris we decided to settle down in Folsom and we love it!! I now have two amazing boys, and am ready to dive back into the world of training. Powerhouse immediately felt like home to me and I love the community Jessie and Becky have built. I’m excited to be a part of this amazing team!
Besides fitness I am a coffee enthusiast, love to curl up with a good book, and really enjoy all things outdoors! If I had to do two workout moves for the rest of my life they would be box jumps and turkish get ups!
